How can I access my account?
You can access your 401(k) account in several ways:
- Online through your plan provider
Visit the website of the service provider that manages your 401(k)/403(b) Plan.- If this is your first time accessing the site, click Register, New User, or Create an Account and follow the prompts to verify your identity.
- Once registered, you can log in anytime to view your balance, review investments, change contribution amounts, update beneficiaries, and access statements and tax documents.
- Mobile app (if available)
Many 401(k)/403(b) providers offer a mobile app that allows you to securely access your account on your phone or tablet. You can typically log in using the same username and password as the website. - By phone
Call the provider’s Customer Service Phone Number listed on your plan materials or provider website. A representative can help you:- Access your account
- Reset your username or password
- Answer questions about your balance, investments, or transactions
- Password or login assistance
If you forget your login credentials, use the Forgot Username/Password link on the provider’s website or contact customer services for help resetting your access. - First-time or former employees
If you are a new participant or a former employee, you can still access your 401(k)/403(b) account using the provider’s website or client services. You may need your Social Security number and other identifying information to verify your account. (If you have moved, there may still be an old address on file so remember this).
